At Anchor Tank Lines we are proud to introduce the use of GPS to better service the needs of our customers.
What is GPS?
- GPS stands for The Global Positioning System.
- It is funded by and controlled by the U. S. Department of Defense. While GPS is used by many people world-wide, the system was designed for and is operated by the U. S. military.
- The system consists of a constellation of 24 satellites that orbit above Earth's surface and continuously send signals to ground stations that monitor and control GPS operations.
- Although GPS has many benefits, in recent years a common use has been vehicle tracking.
How does GPS benefit Anchor Tank Lines customers?
- We have real time visual tracking of the location of our vehicles and drivers; in addition to having constant mobile voice communication. We have constant knowledge of where our trucks at every minute of every day, to ensure customer delivery satisfaction.
- It improves delivery efficiency by ensuring driver productivity in relation to changes in schedules based on traffic conditions.
- Tied to existing website technology, customers can receive "up to the minute" delivery status.
Other important facts about Anchor Tank Lines GPS:
- In case of theft or misuse, we are able to shut down any vehicle remotely.
- Each vehicle will have equipment that is compliant with future federal mandates regarding Haz-mat vehicle tracking.
